Hi Grigori -
I'm happy enough with the blend of what I put in my posts..
and if anyone wants to comment on those, that's fine too...

if you want to add any critique beyond "there is no leadership in Obama", and "things look different from your perspective", I'm more than happy for you to post your reasons or links here if you want... : )

Jean,

I would be happy to discuss this further sometime and hear more of your arguments on the subject as I feel our perceptions of things differ. The other thing is that I don't think this actual blog is the best platform for political discussion and it would be better to do it some place else, unless you disagree.

Feel free to mail me and I will respond with some extra comments.

thanks for sharing the plugin Vade : )

and thanks for the comment Grigori..
it's fine if you wish to disagree..
I hold no delusions about any single politician as saviour, or about the challenges ahead in this century..
what I do find refreshing about Obama though, is that a person with amongst the most significant effect on the country with the world's largest footprint, will in fact be guided by a strong adherence to good use of science, technology and the need to address energy and climate change.

I am genuinely excited by this prospect, and see Obama's election as an excellent platform or foundation for really interesting things to happen. I don't believe everyone should defer repsonsibility to him, or to U.S. government for transforming the world, but having someone like Obama able to push through legislation in the world's biggest superpower represents one of the brightest political lights I've seen in a long time..

As for leadership? I think Obama's last two years of mobilising people in that gruelling campaign demonstrates this aplenty ...

But hey - maybe you were making a point about the bicycle sound systems?

Jean,

I have just read your post and had a number of issues which you highlight that simply don't work from the angle on where I'm looking at things.

There is no leadership that I see in Obama. Learn the system!
